Permanent Hair Removal Solutions for Men

Permanent hair removal solutions for men

I like to have a little of hair but there are certain places on my body that I prefer smooth like my neck, my shoulders, my back or my ears. Tired of epilating all the time, I looked for the best permanent hair removal solutions and here are the ones that I selected for permanent hair removal or a simple hair reduction.

1. Pulsed Light (IPL)

What is pulsed light hair removal?

Better to say right away, this method is quite long and requires sessions every month and a half, then every three months. Then, it will be necessary to repeat a session six months later and then every year if necessary. The light beams have different wavelengths and are much less intense than the laser because the energy is not concentrated in a small area. This treatment is carried out in an institute or at home.

Who is this hair removal method for?

The ideal way to have your hair removed with this method is to have the lightest skin possible in order to avoid burns. Also, the darker the hairs, the more effective the technique. Tanned skin (naturally or artificially), dark skin and dark skin are not compatible with this method. Certain hairs are also not compatible with this technique, in particular gray, red or too light hairs. This method is ideal for small parts of the body and face.

How does it work?

In the growing phase of the hair, we apply a light which will be absorbed by the black pigment of the hair. The pulsed light turns into heat and creates a micro burn. It is this reaction at the level of the hair root, the bulb, which alters and slows down hair regrowth.

How much does it cost ?

Prices start at around 30 USD for a restricted area up to 500 USD for both legs for example.

2. Laser hair removal

What is laser hair removal?

The laser can be used both clinically by a dermatologist, but also at home. Unlike pulsed light, the pulse is very small and very intense. It is a gentle technique and a quick way to get rid of hair in the long run. Whether in the clinic or at home, it usually takes between 5 and 8 sessions for a satisfactory result and an annual maintenance is often necessary thereafter.

Who is this hair removal method for?

The main advantage of this solution is that it is painless and permanent. On the other hand, certain colors of hairs sometimes do not react very well to this technique, in particular blond, gray, white or sometimes red hair. This method is perfect for the torso, back and underarms.

How does it work?

In the growing phase of the hair, the laser light is absorbed by the hair, which acts on the melanin and destroys it. It is advisable to perform laser hair removal in winter so that the skin is not loaded with melanin.

How much does it cost ?

In the clinic, laser hair removal is a little more expensive. You will have to pay around 200 USD for epilation of the torso and abdomen and up to 1500 USD per session for the whole body. If you opt for hair removal at home, it will only cost you the price of the device. In general, count between 300 and 400 USD for the purchase of such a device.

3. Hair removal by electrolysis

What is electrolysis hair removal?

This is another form of laser that destroys the cells that cause hair growth. For the practice of this technique, a specific device is required which consists of a high frequency electrical device which can destroy the cell concerned. The duration of treatment is estimated at 6 to 24 months.

Who is this hair removal method for?

The great advantage of this technique is that it can be performed on any skin type but the sessions are much more expensive and the treatment can be painful.

How does it work?

The method consists in sending a small electric shock using a fine needle to the root of the hair, at the level of the bulb, in order to destroy it completely. This method is long because each hair is treated one by one. The hairs are then removed using tweezers. Depending on the area to be treated, an electrolysis hair removal session can last between 15 minutes and 2 hours. The sessions must be regular because they are only possible during the hair growth phase and can only be performed by a doctor or dermatologist.

How much does it cost ?

Electrolysis costs on average 50 euros per 20-minute session. Depilating the facial area can last an average of 15 minutes, epilation of the armpits or bikini line requires 30 minutes, for the areas of the arms or thigh, it takes 45 minutes. On the other hand, for epilation of legs, torso, back and shoulder, the time required is on average 1 hour or more.

Here are the three main methods men have to completely or partially get rid of their hair. For my part, I opted for Wetty Pro, a laser device which I can use at home, when I want, and which costs much less than all the other methods previously listed. I’ve made a short demo video to give you a better idea of how the device works.

Wetty Pro is cheaper than most devices of this type and costs only 219.95 USD for a device of very good quality. If you want to try it, you can order it on this site and get a 15% discount with the ALORCA coupon.
